Do you really need life insurance?

life insurance

Is anyone dependent on your income, like a family member or creditor (like a mortgage lender or business loan)?

No? You don’t need life insurance!

Yes? I suggest you talk to a trusted insurance agent — aka EXPERT! — for recommendations.

Do you want to protect your people for a set period of years, like until the kids are launched, or the mortgage is paid off?

Yes? Then all you need is a Term Life policy, for 10-20-30-not forever years.

(Term life insurance gives your family a nice warm blanket for the 10-30 years they depend on you most – they gotta start adulting sometime, right?   When your term ends, your monthly payments end too.)

How much life insurance, you ask?

Rule of thumb best guess, is about 20 times your income. Remember that the value of a dollar today won’t be the value of the same dollar in 10-20-30 years. Think forward.

There are lots of variables to consider, so talk to your EXPERT insurance broker for some clarity. You don’t have to figure this stuff out by yourself!

From,
Alison
